What’s in the box?

  • 1 × Calibrated sensor system
  • 1 × M8-to-M8 high-flex cable
  • 1 × USB/CAN communications bridge

Can I customize this sensor?

Yes. This model is designed to be tuned to your specifications and requirements. Contact one of our engineers to learn more: product@forcen.tech

Where can I download the software and API?

After you order a sensor system, a product engineer will contact you to set up and transfer all sensor documentation, visualization software, and the API for your specific model. This is included free with any sensor purchase.

Do I need a communications bridge?

The sensor outputs USB and CAN data natively. You can integrate the sensor directly into a system using an appropriate M8 connector (follow the pinout in the sensor manual). If you want to test with Ethernet or EtherCAT, an external ENET or ECAT bridge is required.

Does the sensor come calibrated?

Yes. Every ForceN sensor is calibrated and compensated for off-axis loading.

What is “Usable Overload”?

With built-in Dedicated Overload Technology, you can load the sensor up to its rated overload value (e.g., 500% of rated range) for the rated quantity (e.g., 5,000 cycles) with no degradation in performance or accuracy. Some customers may still choose to tare the system after an overload event.

What data do I have access to?

ForceN sensors output calibrated Force (Fx, Fy, Fz) and Moment (Mx, My, Mz) data, depending on the model’s degrees of freedom. If equipped with a 6-axis IMU, acceleration and orientation data are also available.

I’m having issues with the sensor and/or integration—who do I contact?
